Site news 20.11.2013

November 20, 2013, Rybinsk. - Today deputy chairman of the Government of the RF Dmitriy Rogozin, deputy minister of industry and commerce of the RF Yuriy Slyusar, UEC chief executive office Vladislav Masalov, first deputy chairman of the military-industrial complex under the Government of the RF Ivan Kharchenko, a member of the military-industrial complex under the Government of the RF Mikhail Kashtan and head of the Division for the armament and aerospace products of the Department of provisioning of the State defense order under the Ministry of Defense of the RF Andrey Elchaninov visited NPO Saturn.
The government delegation was demonstrated the company’s actively growing production and R&D base as well as the newly constructed production and test facilities funded through the federal target programs and technical re-equipment programs. Later a meeting with NPO Saturn’s senior management led by Ilya Federov, the company’s CEO took place.
Dmitriy Rogozin noted that “the visit preceded a government meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the items of aircraft engine building. Today we are in need of strategic decisions in the field of aircraft engine building. The current stage of development of the aircraft technology is nearing its end and we strongly need new production processes and new materials coupled with new design and engineering solutions. And what’s most important - we need new human potential. That’s why in the course of the visit I was particularly interested, among other items, to see how Saturn goes about hiring young employees, the new talent, if it constructs housing to accommodate them, what is the salary level, does the company foster a sense of belonging in the company for the young employees.
Now I can say that the leadership of the company has already accomplished a lot of things but even more is still to come in the nearest future. Rybinsk is emerging as a competence center in the field of aircraft engine engineering. My conclusion is that Saturn is not only a good and reliable serial production plant, it also has its own design bureau, so to say, its own brains. That is why I’m returning to Moscow quite content.”

According to Ilya Fedorov, “it was important for us to demonstrate that the state support rendered to NPO Saturn has given a significant boost to the company’s development. We’ve been able to show that today the “building of a new company” is fully underway, that is to say that the company is now shaping its new outlook as a result of setting up new high-tech production units, special processes areas and test facilities; it is equally a result of creating new competent and socially-friendly work conditions and finding the young and talented people who have immeasurably grown in their competences participating in the international programs. I would like to emphasize that the collaboration with our strategic partner - Snecma - has lead our company to a new level of designing and producing engines of any application, whether it be civil or military products. We pay particular attention to the future, namely the creation of research and technology backlog of knowledge to facilitate our new developments.”
