Site news 24.10.2012October, 24th 2012, Rybinsk – The decree signed by the governor of Yaroslavl region as of 27.09.2012 ¹ 494 has set up a coordinating council aimed at the development of the “Gas-turbine machinery and power engineering” cluster headed by the region’s governor; the Charter establishing the ground rules of the council organization has been approved. The latter document was adopted in accordance with the common action plan attached to the Program of development of the innovation territorial cluster dubbed “Gas-turbine machinery and power engineering” on the territory of Yaroslavl region, elaborated during the meeting in July 2012 between the cluster coordinator – NPO Saturn and the regional and municipal authorities.
The newly established advisory body seeks to ensure smooth interaction between the powers that be, local authorities, non-government associations, commercial and non-commercial organizations with the purpose of shaping the regional policy to facilitate the development of the “Gas-turbine machinery and power engineering” cluster, and in the end to create and maintain new high-tech gas-turbine and power-generation machinery, to ensure an adequate level of competitiveness of the locally manufactured product and to bring innovation-driven technologies into the region’s real economy sector.
The governor of Yaroslavl region Sergey Yastrebov, chairman of the council, has assumed governance of the coordinating council for the development of the innovation territorial cluster “Gas-turbine machinery and power engineering”. In the meantime, all the organization-related questions are handled by the industrial policy department of Yaroslavl region.
Reminder: the companies in the innovation territorial cluster “Gas-turbine machinery and power engineering” altogether constitute a unified research and technology chain of building gas-turbine engines and industrial power plants, - NPO Saturn (cluster coordinator), the Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University (the main higher education institution of the cluster), Saturn-Gas turbines, SatIZ, VolgAero, ReMO, NIR, several Rybinsk-based small-sized innovation businesses and leading Russian educational and research institutions.
Research and production association Saturn OJSC – an engine-building company specialized in design, manufacture and aftermarket support of gas-turbine engines for military and civil aviation, the Navy boats and power-generation and gas-pumping installations. NPO Saturn OJSC is part of the United engine corporation managing company OJSC.
