Site news 24.05.2012On May, 22nd at the NPO Saturn training center the teams of 9-11th graders from six Rybinsk-based schools demonstrated their creative and intellectual abilities competing in the knowledge of the city’s leading aerospace engine-building company, its history and the present-day activity; professions needed in the modern-day production world; educational institutions preparing engineering and working staff.
An interactive occupational guidance game for students, dubbed ‘Learning together while working together’ was organized by the NPO Saturn human resources directorate and the NPO Saturn youth council together with the department of education of Yaroslavl region and Rybinsk in conjunction with the Resource regional center for vocational guidance and psychological support.
Mr. Artem Tikhonov, President of the NPO Saturn youth council: ‘The contest organized for high-school kids is the first event of the brand new, different-than-before vocational guidance program spanning eighteen general education schools of Rybinsk. Such events help students get acquainted with what the company does, learn how it lives and, at the end of the day, helps them choose a profession and the right career’.
NPO Saturn has recently intensified vocational guidance activity as a result of the constantly growing need in engineering staff which is in turn due to the increase in the production volume of both its traditional and new gas-turbine machinery including the D-30 and SaM146 engine families, the products for the Ministry of defense and industrial turbine power plants.
Mr. Leonid Ivanov, NPO Saturn human resources director: ‘In the course of 2012 we plan to hire six hundred shop-floor workers, in 2013 – twice as many. We reinforce our human resources policy by using social programs. In order to entice the employees the company needs the most, we engineer housing projects. We plan to start hiring more graduates of the local vocational schools and for that we are reinstating a number of scholarship programs, including the scholarship program at the Rybisnk industrial and economic college (formerly known as vocational lyceum № 32). Pursuant to the agreements reached between the employers and the government of Yaroslavl region, the vocational education institutions are to increase the hiring to the Metal Working faculty while we, as the employer interested in hiring metal-working machine operators help the process by providing this initiative, among others, with the necessary funding. In addition to awarding scholarships to students, we have incorporated into our labor contract a relocation allowance for engineering school graduates (a lump sum payment) as well as for those who have been drafted to the Army and wish to return to the company after the military service. We have enough work and we really look forward to welcoming all those who want to join the ranks of engine builders’.
