November 26, 2019, Rybinsk. – Russian schoolchildren - participants of the vocational guidance forum “ProjeKTOrIA" had a chance of trying on almost 120 occupations and feeling like real engineers. From 23 to 26 November in Yaroslavl the forum gathered on its premises over 500 senior pupils, 120 teachers, 50 companies and institutions of higher education from 80 regions of the country. By tradition State Corporation Rostec acted as a strategic partner of the event. The most active and effective forum participants were offered the opportunity to study at celebrated Russian higher educational institutions and to later start their career in the country's leading companies. UEC-Saturn PJSC (part of United Engine Corporation, State Corporation Rostec, a member of the All-Russian industrial association of employers “Russia’s Mechanical Engineers Union”) was also involved in the work with schoolchildren.
“The forum "ProjeKTOrIA" will facilitate the choice of your future occupation and area of expertise. All the doors are open for your today. Our country is on the way to a leading position in economics, digital technologies and production, therefore it certainly needs young professional human resources,"
– Dmitrii Mironov
, governor of the Yaroslavl Region, addressed the forum participants at the opening ceremony.
The governor emphasized, "As forecasted by experts, the new generation will have to change their occupation a few times in their working life. Most jobs that will enter the employment market within the next 10 years are not known yet. Thus, it is so important to learn how to make an individual educational path and one's own unique set of competences which will help be in demand and successful throughout the lifetime."
"Production Revolution", "Safety", "Culture Code", "Habitat", "Ecology", "Health" - at least ten project cases were prepared for children in each of these six axes of forum work. In small groups schoolchildren and teachers did non-standard practical tasks for different branches of economy. Some of them reflected on the automation of production in mining and metallurgical industry, others contemplated a print for the fabric "Culture Code of Russia", the rest thought over ideas of telemedicine development in far-away districts of the country.
Rostec provided a prototype of a new "Izh" motobike model from Kalashnikov, a laser ophthalmological station from Ruselectronics, a mockup of the bypass turbojet engine AL-55 from UEC (UEC-Saturn) and other latest products for young engineers' work. "In March of the current year the company extensively dealing with the younger generation deliberately manufactured and handed over a full-scale dynamic mock-up of the bypass turbojet engine AL-55 designed for new-generation training aircraft to the regional museum-vocational guidance centre located on the premises of Rybinsk school No.12,"
- said Dmitrii Barvinok
, HR director of UEC-Saturn. – At "ProjeKTOrIA" it became a real-size specimen to solve the practical problem set up by Saturn for the axis "Production Revolution". For four days a group of ten people were tackling the proposed subject of upgrading current gas-turbine engines in terms of their conversion to alternative fuels by establishing criteria for the selection of optimal solutions, carrying out economic calculations and arguing in favour of the best option."
To outline the range of scientific and technical problems, to deliver an introductory lecture on the operation of gas-turbine engines and trends of their development without offering possible solutions, to support the group's work – these were the tasks assigned to the experts represented by the specialists reporting to the general designer - Anatolii Lyssenko, chief HR development specialist, and Oleg Semenov, chief metrologist of Pilot Plant. However, the foremost thing according to the mentors from UEC-Saturn is "to make children's eyes sparkle in the course of work at the project, to stir up a wish to enter basic departments of partner institutions of higher education and in future to cast in lot with Rostec and UEC companies."
The fours schoolboys from Rybinsk - Irog Smirnov, Mikhail Tzarev, Stepan Tikhomirov and Sergey Shkinkov - are likely to commit themselves to high technologies. With support from UEC-Saturn and the Yaroslavl regional division of the All-Russian public organization "Russia’s Mechanical Engineers Union" they became part of the Rostec team participating in the forum and showed their worth.
As estimated by experts, schoolchildren should turn their attention to such prospective areas of activity as production of new materials for industry, medicine, artificial intelligence, biotechnologies and alternative energy. It is worthy of note that at the forum of 2019 there was presented the online training simulator "Fitting Room of Professions". It already covers 120 jobs and in prospect it will go up to 400 occupations distributed by branch of economy.
