March 18, 2014, Rybinsk. - Today a Memorandum of collaboration was signed between the Yaroslavl regional branch of the Russian union of mechanical engineers and the Saxony economy facilitation department (WFS).
The Memorandum was signed in the frame of the International technological forum dubbed “Innovation. Technology. Manufacturing” and organized by the Gas turbine machinery and power engineering innovative, territorial cluster, NPO Saturn, the P.A. Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University, the Government of the Yaroslavl region, the Rybinsk city hall, the Yaroslavl regional branch of the Russian union of mechanical engineers, the Saxony economy facilitation department (Germany) and the Safran Group (France). The forum is attended by the representatives of large, technologically advanced companies, small-to-medium-sized businesses, higher-learning institutions and vocational training schools as well as by Russian research and development centers.
The document was endorsed by Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn CEO, chairman of the all-Russian public organization “The Russian union of mechanical engineers” and, on behalf of the Saxony economy facilitation department, by doctor Manfred Liebl, WFS representative in Russia.
The text of the Memorandum mentions that a mutually profitable collaboration between the Russian companies and the land of Saxony in the field of industrial modernization and technology transfer has a lot of growth potential, lays out prospects for further development with regard to conducting technological forums dedicated to given technological subjects seeking to upgrade and re-equip Russian industrial centers. At that, the main industrial fields may be general and special mechanical engineering including automobile industry and railroad companies; airspace, agricultural and chemical industry players. The document also references the terms of conducting working meetings and technologic forums for the Saxony delegation, and visits of Saxony by Russian companies; the document states that the collaboration between the Russian union of mechanical engineers and WFS must continue to make a significant contribution to the initiation of joint investments in the production sector and technological development.
The Yaroslavl regional branch of the Russian union of mechanical engineers integrates 12 large companies and leading learning institutions in the Yaroslavl region: NPO Saturn, SatIZ, Avtodizel, Vympel, TRANSENERGO, the Yaroslavl Krasnyy Mayak plant, the Yaroslavl plant of diesel appliances, the Tutaev motor plant, Metiz, the Rostov optical-mechanical plant, the P.A. Solovev RSATU, the Yaroslavl agricultural-polytechnical college as well as the leaders of several machine-building companies from the Yaroslavl region (the likes of ELDIN, Agat, Polimermash-Tatneft, the Rybinsk instrument building plant and some others) and the leaders of the regional and municipal authorities. Since March 2011, the Yaroslavl regional branch of the Russian union of mechanical engineers has been chaired by the chief executive officer of NPO Saturn, Ilya Fedorov.
The Yaroslavl regional branch of the Russian union of mechanical engineers plays an active role in conducting municipal, regional and all-Russian technological forums and is actively accessing the international level. Based on the performance metrics of the Union’s regional branches, the Yaroslavl branch has always been ranked among the ten best regional branches in Russia.
The NPO Saturn Research and Production Association (OJSC) is an engine-building company specialized in the design and development, production and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and civil aviation, naval ships and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units. The association is part of the All-Russian public organization The Union of mechanical engineers of Russia whereby the regional branch is headed by I. N. Fedorov, NPO Saturn CEO.
