Three days of the youth event were spent under the slogan “Live like the Olympians do!” The traditional sport disciplines inaugurated the program of the athletic competition: the men’s and women’s biathlon race and an obstacle course. Truly Olympic was the late night grand opening of the youth gathering. The white bear, the hare and the leopard - the three symbols of the 2014 Sochi Olympics conjointly with the guests of honor - the company’s top managers, the deputies of the Rybinsk municipal council and the youth policy leaders - greeted all the contestants of the 27th winter youth gathering. After the flag-hoisting ceremony and the beautiful fireworks, the creative part of the show called “The greeting” got on its way under a theme “Every team has its talisman”. During another event called “The home assignment” which was closing the first day’s program every team presented a given country and the Olympic Games it hosted. The most spectacular events of the program took place the next day: the newly featured youth gathering activities included the laser tag, “The young fighter” contest in which the ladies showed and proved that when it comes to throwing knives and hand grenades, putting on the winter military uniform and assembly and disassembly of automatic weapons they are not any worse than men. The second part of the day was dedicated to gaming activities: the ladies competed in “The table hockey” sporting felt boots on ice while the gents fought for “The big ball”. In the evening a competition between the team captains took place and was won by Alexander Ivin, head of aircraft engine accessories and bearings department, NPO Saturn purchasing and bearings direction (the “Litejnyj period” team). The second day’s program was wrapped up by a contest titled “Faster, higher, smarter”. During the last day of the youth gathering, a contest dubbed “Winter’s follies” had the teams competing in various disciplines: sledding, tobogganing, scoring the puck, hitting and sometimes missing the bull’s eye, sack-hopping and collecting cubes. Then the participants proceeded with a relay race called “Olympiad closing”. Each step of the race symbolized a specific Olympic sport. After the competition of “youth gathering parodies”, a dedicated score-summarizing procedure took place and awards were bestowed upon the winners. The event organizers thanked all the participants and summarized the results.
The two winning teams had scored equal number of points. But, in accordance with the rules, the team having won the biggest number of first places in different contests is considered the winner.
Therefore, the winner of the 27th (winter) Olympic NPO Saturn Youth gathering is the “Litnikovyj period” team (NPO Saturn). The honorable second place was awarded to the “Zvezdy i stakhanovtsy” team (NPO Saturn) while the third place went to the “Nasledniki” team (Saturn-Gas turbines). In the process of preparing this event, we adhered to the principle that the most important factor is not the victory but the participation, and decidedly removed from the event program the most tiring sporting events after which the teams were literally exhausted without any strength left for socializing with other teams or drawing the conclusions of the day. From the feedback I’m receiving, everyone is content and quite happy. To us, the event organizers, such words is the best token of appreciation of what we do.”

No doubt, our rigorous training and support of our followers did us a whole lot of good. On behalf of my team, I express our gratitude to the organizing committee of the 27th NPO Saturn youth gathering. The level of organization is as always very high; competence level and fair game adherence of the competition judges have indeed impressed me while decreasing considerably the number of contestable situations. I’d also like to emphasize the unconditional observance of all the timetables and timely readiness of all the sporting and creative events. The NPO Saturn youth gatherings don’t stop to thrill, develop and surprise us all.”

Previously we took part in the summer gathering; this time around it is the winter one. As usual, everything is great, at the world-class level.
