November 6, 2013, Rybinsk. – The winners of the “Best young employee of NPO Saturn in 2013” competition have been defined. The final round of the contest took place during the first week of November.
This year 49 young engineers representing both Saturn and its affiliate ZAO SatIZ took part in the competition. Following the results of the preliminary round taking place on 23 October at the RGATU (the Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University) and comprising the evaluation of knowledge of the company’s collective agreement, an IQ test and questions on the physics- and math-related subjects, 16 best contestants were pinpointed, the participants in the competition’s final round.
A self-presentation dubbed “Me and my profession”, a portfolio, the debates, team-building games, creativity and improvising contests - in the course of two days packed with intellectual events, the young people have demonstrated their worth having shown and proven their uniqueness. A competent jury reduced the 16 to the four leaders who would have to contend for the title of the “best young employee” in the superfinal.
The leaders had to demonstrate their ability to manage a team “built up” of their colleagues who hadn’t made it to the superfinal, take part in the oratorical contest and present and defend a social project that the company could really benefit from.
Based on the superfinal’s results, the title of the “Best young employee of NPO Saturn” went to Artem Sergeev, a category 3 design engineer. The second place was awarded to Liliya Tsvetkova, a production engineer and the third place was added to the list of achievements of Anastasia Krundaeva, a category 3 design engineer.
Alexey Molchanyuk, NPO Saturn director of human resources expressed his gratitude to all the competition participants emphasizing that it is the active and proactive employees who shape the company’s future: “Life of any individual is connected to specific decisions, actions and the ability to assume the responsibility for such decisions. There is no doubt that all of you belong to the category of proactive young people, eager to work, who are not afraid to take on the responsibility for the decisions you make and the people you lead.”
This year’s winner - Artem Sergeev who was participating in the competition last year and came in third noted that he likes testing his “strength margin” and creating value out of his pastime, that’s what had prompted him to take part once gain in that prestigious contest. The best young employee unveiled his secret of success: “You have to be confident in yourself. Many of the contestants deserved to win in that competition, it’s just that this time I’ve had a little bit more luck than anyone else.”
The competition is held annually under the aegis of the Yaroslavl regional branch of The Union of Russian Mechanical Engineers and NPO Saturn’s trade union with the purpose of stimulating young employees, revealing the most talented specialists and evaluating their breakthrough experience and the innovative approaches in theory and practice of their work. The event organizers are Saturn’s social programs division and the company’s youth board.
It is worth noting that the winners have been invited to participate in the IV Regional competition of young employees from various companies in the Yaroslavl region called “The young professional” which has also been repeatedly won by the representatives of NPO Saturn.
