Site news 26.02.2013February, 26th 2013, Rybinsk. – The Anniversary ХХV (Winter) NPO Saturn Youth Gathering took place on 22 – 24 February at the Black River Health Center near Rybinsk.
The organizers of the youth-oriented event – the NPO Saturn social programs department, the youth board and the NPO Saturn labor union committee along with the Yaroslavl regional office of the Union of Russian Machine Builders, and the business partner (general sponsor) of the Youth Gathering VTB Bank JSC – dedicated the event to the Year of Environment Protection.
20 teams from Rybinsk, Yaroslavl, Moscow, etc. participated in a team competition and contended for the Andrey Savin Cup in the athletic, creative and intellectual disciplines of the program. Some representatives from Perm attended the Saturn youth event as guests. For the first time a team representing the Omsk-based design bureau took part in the competition.
“I’m overwhelmed with emotions; everything is interesting here. We never though that the program of the gathering would be so eventful, – shared his impressions Egor Khudoyarov, captain of the Omsk “Sukhoi zakon” team. – It is so great to be surrounded by the atmosphere of friendliness; we get a lot of support and cheers. Thank you for this Youth Gathering and we wish you continued success”.
According to the results of the ХХV NPO Saturn Youth Gathering, the victory in the overall competition, the Cup and the Grand Prix of the event went to the “Nasledniki” team. The second place went to “Litejnyj Podkhod” while the third place was won by the “Sedmoj Continent” team. The Honorary Prize of the competition, the Challenge Andrey Savin Cup went to the “VTBEST” team (a Yaroslavl-based VTB Bank joint team).
The NPO Saturn Youth Gatherings are deservedly considered a unique phenomenon of the youth-oriented policy and represent the Company’s longstanding tradition.
The history of the Saturn Youth Gathering movement dates back to the middle 80’s of the last century. In 1984 on the premises of the Youth Camp not far from the Black River Health Center, back then a venue of choice for recreation for the Company’s employees, the very first gathering of Rybinsk Engine-Building Plant youth took place. Since then the gatherings have been held on a regular basis with a rare exception in the time of perestroika. The new life of the gatherings and the new countdown came about in 2000. The NPO Saturn Youth Gatherings held twice a year have now become open for the representatives of the aviation industry companies and the main partners of the Association.
“We are pursuing quite understandable objectives with this event, - says Aleksey Molchanyuk, NPO Saturn human resources director. – We are oriented towards the young people working in the Company; we seek to provide them with an opportunity to interact with each other and the youth employed by our numerous partners in an informal atmosphere.
In view of creation of the Civil Aviation Engines Division within the UEC headed by NPO Saturn and due to other integration processes on going in the industry, we are turning a new page of the youth movement setting the objectives to exchange experience, establish a unique youth policy and corporate culture in all the companies of the division”.
