The All-Russian non-profit organization ‘Union of machine builders of Russia’ was founded in 2007 on the initiative of the leaders of the Russian flagship machine-building companies. The core of the organization consists of the Union’s regional offices operating in 64 regions of Russia.
In March 2011 Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn chief executive officer headed the Yaroslavl regional office of the ‘Union of machine builders of Russia’. Since that moment the Union has been able to significantly reinforce its positions in Yaroslavl region. At this point the Yaroslavl regional office comprises twelve major companies and leading training regional organizations as well as over a hundred physical entities. The activity of the regional office spans the interaction with local authorities, trade unions and non-profit organizations. The delegates of the office take active part in all key events at which they participate directly in solving diverse issues arising in the field of machine-building industry and its allied industries constantly expanding their representation.
In particular, a recent ground-breaking initiative of the Union’s Yaroslavl regional branch provides for a set of documents to be included into the public program with the purpose of rendering support to the real economy sector and constantly supplying it with highly-qualified engineering staff and shop-floor operators. The office continues to be deeply involved in solving job placement issues on the regional level having clearly manifested its mission: already in 2012 the recruitment for training in the field of vocational education has a provision for the real need in employees expressed by the region’s industrial companies.

NPO Saturn OJSC is part of United engine corporation – a 100% subsidiary of the united industrial company OBORONPROM OJSC with the objective of engine-building asset management.
United industrial company OBORONPROM OJSC – a multi-field machine-building group of companies founded in 2002. It is part of GK Russian technologies. Its main fields of business: helicopter building (Helicopters of Russia OJSC), engine building (MC ODK) and other assets.
