Site news 19.04.2011

On April, 19th 2011 at Zvartnots airport (Armenia) a solemn ceremony of delivery of the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 SN 95007 aircraft equipped with the SaM146 engines produced jointly by NPO Saturn and Snecma to an Armenian airline Armavia took place. The jet liner was named in honor of the first astronaut Yuri Gagarin and was assigned the EK 95015 hull number.
“Delivery of the first production aircraft is a key milestone in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 program realization. Today’s event landmarks a new stage of the program development – start of revenue service and full-scale serial production. I’m convinced that the new Russian aircraft will demonstrate excellent performance compared to the other Armavia fleet aircraft while our colleagues from Superjet International would render comprehensive support to the Armenian national carrier during the SSJ100 entry into service stage ensuring quality and on-time customer support”, - said President of UAC, General director of Sukhoi Company OJSC Mikhail Pogosyan, commenting the delivery of the first SSJ100.
On September, 14th 2007 Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and Armavia airline signed a contract for delivery of Russian aircraft.
“We are grateful to everybody for making such an aircraft. We consider it a major step forward in Russia’s aviation-building industry since by definition it is the first serial aircraft manufactured in modern-day Russia under the guidance of the world’s aviation-building leaders. We salute everyone with this huge success!”, - emphasized Armavia’s owner Mikhail Bagdasarov.
