In order to meet customer expectations to the fullest when it comes to teaching maintenance of the SaM146 engine, NPO Saturn’s Aviation training center has successfully passed a dedicated audit and on 01.02.2011 it was granted approval by the Federal agency for air transport (Rosaviatsiya) authorizing the training center to administer the course “Borescope inspection of the SaM146 engine”.
The operation of Saturn’s Aviation training center is an integral part of the SaM146 engine integrated customer support system. The training center pursues its set objective, i.e. rendering services aimed at training the airlines’ engineering and technical personnel, repair stations’ mechanics and specialists of NPO Saturn as well, those who will soon be involved in servicing and repairing the SaM146 engines.

On July, 15th 2010 at the headquarters of the Federal agency for air transport (Rosaviatsiya), NPO Saturn’s Aviation training center was awarded a Certificate entitling it to perform educational activities. That event had completed the certification stage of the training center to the Russian regulations having provided the SSJ100 customers with an opportunity to sign up for the following training programs: “General awareness of the propulsion system” and “Propulsion system line and base maintenance”.

Consequently NPO Saturn’s Aviation training center is now offering three training courses utilizing the state-of-the-art technology in the field of theoretical education as well as hands-on practice using an engine mock-up. The training courses have been developed in full compliance with the ÀÒÀ104 requirements in close cooperation with the representatives of the Snecma customer training center.

Training at the certified Aviation training center is a prerequisite to certify the airlines’ personnel involved in performing maintenance tasks on the engine (Chapters 2 and 8 of the Air code of the Russian Federation).

At this moment NPO Saturn’s Aviation training center trains the employees of the SaM146 program directorate, the personnel of the gas-turbine engine customer support division, and in February-March 2011 the center will be ready to start training the personnel of the SSJ100 aircraft launch customers (two airlines – Aeroflot – Russian Airlines and Arm Avia).
